Born and raised in Columbia, Maryland, Kate Hackett has been acting since she was four years old. Originally a stage actress working in local community theatres, she has done many musicals and straight plays, including not only original scripts, but also productions of Flowers for Algernon, Les Miserables and The Sound of Music. However, it was when she travelled to Boston for college at the prestigious Boston University that she found a new and exciting venue for her craft: film. Since the move to Boston, Kate has been in several independent shorts including "A Bed Made for Two", a historical drama, several dramatic mysteries, and even a video game! She was also cast as a lead in Boston University's soap opera Baystate. After finishing her work and earning a cum laude degree in history, Kate moved to California. Miss Hackett continues to work in the Los Angeles area in more independent short films and internet projects, including the comedic "Windsor Park", which blossomed into several reoccurring roles. In July of 2009, she began work on a short about a young woman testing her faith in God, capturing the lead in J.J. Moffat's "Sex, Chopin, and the Good Book".
